The purpose of the Equity Team is to help provide guidance and support that drives forward the vision of P.S. 116. This includes acknowledging and confronting racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, antisemitism, Islamophobia, anti-immigrant sentiment, ageism, ableism, and any other forms of marginalization and oppression. This means that the Equity Team leads the charge in looking intentionally at all aspects of schooling such as curriculum, classroom management, professional development, school structures, goal setting, caregiver and community relationships and interactions, and more. Above all, we are committed to working towards creating a liberatory schooling experience for P.S. 116 students.
